Page Last Updated

A lot of the time when you go to large commercial, educational or government web sites you see a line at the bottom of each page saying when that page was last updated. Most of the time that line is generated by the server. Below is an example of how to do this with javascript on your own web site.

TIP: The filemanager of most homepage providers also have something similar to this in them. Sometimes in the directory where your filenames are located you will notice the date last updated next to the filename. You can also find this next to the filenames on your hard drive and floppy drives when using Windows Explorer to view them. If you are using Internet Explorer, click your right mouse button when the cursor is over the page and click on properties to see when the page was created.
