When newbies come to your site they don't know how to view the source code of your pages. The following script will make this much easier for them to do so. Add it to every one of your pages by including it in the source code of each page or as a JavaScript Include. This will also work with framed pages. The only problem with this script is that it will only work in the page it is in. To view source of other pages or sites click here.
Use the following script to view the source code of any page on the web or on your own hard drive or floppy drive. To view the source on your hard drive or floppy drive you must understand pathnames. A pathname simply tells you where the file in question is stored on your drives. Your hard drive's designation letter should be "c:" and your floppy should be "e:".
Don't bother thinking that you can now get the source code of password protected pages. It simply will not happen. However, there is a little light at the end of the tunnel. You can use this to capture source code of pages that have the right mouse button disabled. If someone wants something badly enough they usally find a way to get it. :)
I recently came to a page that had a script in it to keep you from clicking on "View Source" in the right mouse button menu and the "View" menu at the top of the browser. Another poor fool that thought he could protect his source code from prying eyes. All I did (I'm using Internet Explorer 5.5) was to press CTRL+N to open a new browser window. Then I dragged the URL icon in the address window next to his URL and dropped it in the new window. Now you can do anything you want to that page after that.
If you don't want your stuff taken "KEEP IT OFF OF YOUR HOMEPAGE!". Hiding it in your directory won't help either. I can find anything in just about any directory using Altavista. Their host search feature is very handy for that. Geocities Community Leaders find hidden pages this way all the time.
